Post Away at AFC Rushden & Diamonds.

Another tough game , saw an interview with gaffer made after Tuesdays game. He has as far as is known a full squad [ except Liam Spink ] to choose from. Same starting XI as the Bedworth game ?? ??

    I would go:

    Breeden
    Rankin, Hull, Lincoln, Wilson
    Dowd, Hayward, Broadhurst, Shorrock
    Taylor, McDonald

    (Massey, Westwood, Quaynor, Binner, Gregory)

For the first time in ages I struggled to think of 5 senior players to go on the bench! Lots of upheaval in the squad lately - if Binner is more of a central player (?) then I expect we'll sign competition for the right wing soon enough.

I think we will be a bit more defensive.... although I thought Lincoln and Hayward both looked like they were carrying knocks towards the end of Tuesday and we had no subs left to replace them so hopefully they have rested up.

    Breeden

    Rankin Hull Lincoln Wilson

    Broadburst

    Hayward Quaynor

    Shorrock

    Taylor Macdonald

Clinical performance in the end to dispatch of a Rushden team who ultimately lost their heads with two hefty challenges on Josh and Charlie. What a signing Mikey Taylor is proving to be, his second and fourth two examples of the pace and power he has brought to this side, in fact he made it look easy. Was good to see Kyle back in defence and Charlie back to his best, with the usual 8/10 shift from Hayward.

All in all a day the 150 or so from Bromsgrove won’t forget in a hurry, hopefully we can kick on from here.

    Thumbs up

wOw . . . Doubt if anybody predicted that score. The home teams boss has given a quick view on proceedings on the BetVictor site.
