Spot on Alan Horton and Dario G. You mention the current Redditch captain Tom Rankin. In his under 18 side was also Kyle Morrison(Leamington) Ashley Carter(Halesowen) and many other really good players. The Floodlit League is a fantastic learning curve for young players and it is a shame not to have a team at Bromsgrove at present. They might not be ready for first team duty at 18 years old, but could dual register for a club at a slightly lower level in mens football and still be part of the club going forward.
Ladies football is on the up and the Over 35 mens team means there is football for nearly everyone at Bromsgrove Sporting FC. I do not think this takes too much away from the first team and after all it is a community club.

Agreed. Has never been given a proper run in the team and was surprised to see he re-signed over the summer, would've thought he would have made a move then.

Couldn't the club have accommodated both women's football and the U18s? There's no Worcester this season so the pitch isn't getting the same wear and tear as previous seasons even with the women/over 35s occasionally playing on a Sunday.

When the men’s side started it did so at a “terrible standard” and built from there. Women make up over half the countries population and an increasing proportion of Sporting’s support and volunteers, maybe give the “PC nonsense” a rest.

If the club didn’t care about bringing young players through they wouldn’t have spent a huge amount of time and effort setting up an academy side which would have stated this season if not for covid.

And finally, the academy side that would have meant the same number of U18 teams as last season (were it not for a global pandemic), so it was in reality the academy, not the women’s team that would have replaced the floodlit team.

Oh and finally, finally, when in your earlier post you complained about he chairman wanting to make money. How else do you think the club functions?

like not compensating last seasons season ticket holders for outstanding matches owed when the pandemic curtailed the season.

Calling people self righteous after having petty rants about women daring to play football is kind of a laugh.

I don’t think the club handled the season tickets very well and I also think some people massively over reacted to it because they want any stick to beat the club with and don’t care if it’s based in reality or not (like your women’s team replaced floodlit team claim). I’m sure you’re aware season ticket holders did get some compensation with a free mask and free entry to friendlies.

This...You might not like womens football and in your eyes "Dario G" you might feel it's a terrible standard but for me the club should be congratulated not belittled for introducing a womens side. From what I've seen and read a lot of people give up their spare time to run the side for the benefit of others.

How about some constructive comments and suggestions for a change?
