How They Saw It | Match report | Programme
Bashley gained another hard earned point in their quest for a play-off place in a scrappy encounter with relegation haunted Bromsgrove Rovers. Bash were unchanged from Saturday's game with Rugby, with one change on the bench Lee Burch replacing the ill Justin Keeler.

Bash made a positive start with Dave Town having a shot blocked after good work from Craig Davis and Richard Gillespie. Ryan Moss headed over from a Gillespie cross while skipper Paul Gazzard made an excellent block at the other end. David Elm held a shot from Matt Birley, and tipped a Patrick Peters shot behind for a corner as Bromsgrove came into the game midway through the opening period. Moss flicked the ball on for Gillespie but the ball came off his knee and ran through to Rovers keeper Karl Lewis.

Gillespie flashed a shot over from an acute angle after Moss had flicked on a free kick, and Bromsgrove had a penalty appeal rejected after Peters went down as he tried to latch onto the loose ball after Elm had parried a shot. Bash were forced into a change at half time with Gary Middleton leaving the fray having picked up an injury at the end of the first half and Aidan Sainsbury replacing him. This forced a reshuffle with Gazzard going to centre back and Chris Knowles to right back. Gillespie failed to connect with an early chance before Peters cut inside and shot wide for the home side as the early exchanges of the second half were fairly even.

Bashley were penned back for a spell before Gillespie escaped to head wide from a Chris Ferrett free kick, while Elm held on to a swerving shot from Jordon Fitzpatrick. Bromsgrove saw another penalty appeal turned down after Fitzpatrick went down under a challenge before Lewis held a shot from Gillespie. Elm made another save to tip the ball behind for a corner but Bash had the clearest chance to win the game with nine minutes left. Gillespie flicked the ball on, and it deflected kindly into the path of Moss, who ran through one-on-one with Lewis but the ball bobbled as he struck it and it went wide of the target.

Danny Smith was cautioned for a trip late on before a horrible mix-up at the back for Bromsgrove in added time almost let in Moss but he was unable to divert his header towards goal.
