Match report | How They Saw It | Programme
PLAY-off hopefuls Bashley blew Bromsgrove apart in blustery conditions on Saturday.

Bashley took an eighth minute lead, when Dave Town stepped over a Chris Ferrett pass. Ryan Moss looked to have illegally impeded Sam Alsop before squaring the ball across for Chris Knowles to score from close range.

The Bash tried to utilize the strong wind but were caught offside time after time.

Rovers' first effort at goal came when Matt Birley hit a free-kick well wide of the left hand post.

Rovers goalkeeper Karl Lewis pulled off a point-blank save to deny Craig Davis in the 29th minute but 30 seconds later Bashley doubled their advantage.

The Greens failed to clear their lines and Richard Gillespie set up Danny Smith to fire into the bottom right hand corner from just inside the area.

Joszef Jakab's dipping effort just flashed wide of David Elm's left hand post after 37 minutes.

Lewis kept the Rovers in the game just before half-time, tipping a vicious effort from Knowles over the crossbar.

Rovers failed to take advantage of having the wind at their backs and this was to prove costly in the 62nd minute.

A through-ball set Gillespie away on goal, and with Rovers defenders appealing for offside, he finished clinically past the advancing Lewis for the third goal.

The game was well and truly wrapped up in the 76th minute.

Substitute Justin Keeler set Gillespie away down the left and his cross was converted at the far post by Moss.

Pete Castle and Gary Middleton both missed free-headers in the front of the Rovers goal putting them wide of the target. Bashley almost added a fifth three minutes from time when Moss latched onto substitute Jeremy Tarr's precise pass.

His effort beat Lewis and cannoned back off the underside of the crossbar.

Downing's full-blooded effort from the edge of the area just cleared Elm's crossbar. Elm then made a fine save, gathering Birley's dipping effort at the second attempt in the closing moments of the game.
