A centre forward, who was probably the first professional to play for Bromsgrove Rovers. It was stated he was paid 5s per match in the 1894/05 season.
He Made his debut for the Rovers against Astwood Bank in the Studley & District League in November 1894.
He also played for Worcester Rovers during the 1894-95 season.
He was a regular for the Rovers in the second half of the season, and ended up the leading goalscorer for the season with a fantastic return of 10 goals from 14 games.
Strangely, he only played one further game for the Rovers at the tail end of the next 1895-96 season, but he returned to the Rovers in the 1900-1901 season, scoring a hat-trick in the 7-1 trouncing of California Athletic in the Birmingham Junior Charity Shield. He was also top scorer in that very disappointing campaign, where the Rovers finished second bottom of the Birmingham & District League and having to apply for re-election. He scored 10 goals from 14 games.
He left the Rovers at the end of the 1900/01 season and moved to Berwick Rangers (Worcester).
