He joined Rovers at the start of the 1992-93 season, bringing some Football League experience to the Rovers first season among the non-league elite of the National Conference.

He re-joined the club in June 1994, being appointed as First Team Coach. When Bobby Hope resigned as Manager in September 1994 Grealish was made Caretaker Manager, and received Hopes endorsement to be his successor, saying "Tony believes in the passing game, which is how football should be played, and he is very popular with the lads."

After initially intimating that Grealish was the natural successor, the Board decided to undertake a recruitment process and Grealish was eventually confirmed as Manager on 16 November 1994.

After a good start when Rovers climbed as high as third in the Conference, hit by a succession of injuries to key players including Kevin Richardson, Stewart Brighton and Jimmy Skelding results tailed off. He was relieved of his duties by the Board on 2 March 1995.

Grealish sadly died in 2013, aged just 56, after suffering from cancer.
