One of Rovers greatest ever goalscorers, who played for Rovers throughout the 1960s.

Born in 1939 in Old Hill, Maurice began his career as a 16 year old playing for Two Gates in the Wolverhampton Amateur Premier League.

He was signed by Wolverhampton Wanderers as an amateur and played for the third team, but did not progress any further.

At the start of the 1957/58 season, as a 17 year old he was signed by Halesowen Town as an inside right.

He began his national service in 1958, where he played for the Army First XI

He joined Rovers once his national service was over in 1960. He was a prolific scorer at inside-right until he left the Rovers at the end of 1963/64 season, when he joined Lower Gornal. He then moved on to Stourbridge in May 1965, before he returned to The Rovers for a second spell in February 1967.

He continued to bang in the goals until leaving Rovers for the final time in 1971. He played his final game as sub against Tamworth in the West Midlands League on 31 October 1971.

After leaving the Rovers he played for Brierley Hill and Warley Borough.
