...Smith profile

A 5 foot 8 inch goalkeeper who first appeared for Rovers in November 1928. He had previously played for Worcester St Johns. He had also played for Worcester City in the 1927/28 season

He obviously was from a military background as he played in goal for 8th Worcesters in the Territorial Army Cup including an appearance in the semi final in February 1929, when his side won the match 16-2!?!

He played in the 1928/29 Worcestershire Senior Cup Final, where Rovers lost 3-2 to Worcester City.

He had to stop playing for Bromsgrove in September 1929 as he could no longer get time off to play football from his employer in Worcester. Circumstances must have changed as he returned to action for Bromsgrove in early 1930. He continued to miss gave here and there due to his Territorial army football commitments.
