...O`Connor profile

A midfield player who was signed by Bobby Hope in July 1989 from Bloxwich Town. He made his debut against Gravesend and Northfleet in the Southern League Premier Division on 18 August 1989.

He was a key figure in the highly successful 1991/92 campaign when Rovers got promoted to the top tier of non-league football for the first time. He also played in the First Round of the F.A. Cup against Bournemouth and in both legs of Rovers victorious Worcestershire Senior Cup final win against Sutton Coldfield Town.

It was during this season he caught the eye of Crystal Palace manager Steve Coppell, who signed him for the Premier League side.

He never quite made it at Palace and left to join Walsall, where he played a key role in their promotion winning season in 1994/95.

He joined Peterborough United before joining Birmingham City in 1996, representing them in the 2001 Football League Cup Final against Liverpool, which Birmingham lost in a penalty shootout.

He re-joined Walsall in 2002, but his contract was not renewed at the end of the 2002–03 season. He then signed for Shrewsbury Town in July 2003 before ending his playing career with Kidderminster Harriers in 2006.
