Moor Green FC 1968 to 1974 (became a regular first team player in 1971 after about a dozen appearances in the previous seasons). The first team manager at Moor Green when I signed was ex Rovers stalwart Joe Wainwright.
Bromsgrove Rovers 1974 to 1979 (Signed by Tony Upton who was later replaced by Wilf Grant not long after I had signed; then followed Alan Grundy and Frank OHare) I played 273 games in the five seasons I was at the Rovers.
Highlights I guess reaching the semi-final draw in the FA Trophy in 1976 but losing in the quarter-final replay at Enfield by 2-1 after a 0-0 draw at home. Also, in my first season beating full time Bath City 2-0 at Bath in the 2nd leg of the Border Counties Cup Final after a 0-0 draw at home. It was our 68th game of the season and personally my 63rd.
Sutton Coldfield Town FC 1979 to 1987 playing 320 games. During this time the club was promoted to the Southern League and we gained promotion to the Premier Division finishing second behind Cheltenham Town. I had two spells as temporary Manager before a two-year stint as Manager leaving by mutual consent in March 1987.
Boldmere St Michaels FC 1987 my last season as a player, playing 44 games finishing as league runners up and challenge cup finalists. I became Assistant Manager to John Morris in the Summer of 1988 then took over as Manager on 13th October 1988 when John moved to Halesowen Town. A position I retained until retiring at the end of the 2003/2004 season. I have fulfilled many roles at Boldmere since then and was honoured to be invited to become President in November 2019 following the death of long serving Harry Peakman.
