Match Report | Programme
Bromsgrove lose their fourth point, drawing 2-2 for the second time in a week against mid table Alvis in a late dramatic finish.

Bromsgrove started weak and eventually handed Alvis an early lead thanks to poor defending and a calm finish from Alvis forward Patrick Suffo. Bromsgrove fought back valiantly before half time and gained their reward thanks to a Chrisi Conway's header giving them a 1-1 draw at half time. Bromsgrove came out strong in the second half by putting pressure on the Alvis defence. The pressure paid off for Bromsgrove and they gained a penalty mid-way through the second half. Captain Joe Brooks stepped up and gave Bromsgrove a deserved lead. Bromsgrove seemed to switch off towards the end of the game and paid the price when Alvis substitute Fabian Spence found an equalizer to seal Bromsgrove's second 2-2 score in a week against Alvis.

It took twelve minutes for spectators at the Victoria ground to witness the first chance of the match. Alvis' Patrick Suffo created the first chance of the game by wriggling past two defenders and delivering a comfortable shot for Bromsgrove goalkeeper Tom Savage. The experienced former Sheffield United player and Cameroonian International Patrick Suffo, who ten years ago this week got sent off in the infamous Battle of Bramall Lane looked like trouble for Bromsgrove's defence. Mistakes in Bromsgrove's defence lead to the opening goal of the game. Patrick Suffo took his chance and despite scuffing his half volley shot he managed to drift the ball towards Bromsgrove goalkeeper Tom Savage's bottom left corner to give Alvis a 1-0 lead.

Bromsgrove fought back strong with efforts from James Turk and Chrisi Conway testing the Alvis goal before the break. Chrisi Conway came closest to scoring for Bromsgrove forty minutes in. He beat the Alvis goalkeeper Karl Roach and fired a low effort towards a narrow angled open goal. Sadly for Rovers his effort was cleared off the line. Bromsgrove kept pressuring the Alvis defence and just before halftime an unmarked Chrisi Conway headed in a powerful effort to give Bromsgrove the equalizer before halftime.

Both teams gave a spirited performance in the opening of the second half with early efforts from Bromsgrove's James Turk and Alvis' Andrew-Junior Williams applying pressure on both defences.

With twenty minutes to go before the final whistle Bromsgrove's Keith Draper won a penalty for the home side as he was pulled to the ground. Captain Joe Brooks stepped up and coolly tucked away a penalty to give Bromsgrove a 2-1 lead. Bromsgrove managed to hang onto their lead for fifteen minutes but lost it with five minutes to go when Alvis broke against the run of play. Substitute Fabian Spence held off Bromsgrove's last defender and slid the ball under goalkeeper Tom Savage into the bottom corner just on the edge of the box. Bromsgrove replied well and applied pressure on the Alvis defence in the last minute of injury time. A goal mouth scramble in the Alvis box got turned in yards from the goal line to give what Bromsgrove thought would be a 3-2 win. Controversially the goal was disallowed and given offside to seal a 2-2 draw.

A fairly even game resulted with a fairly even outcome. Bromsgrove got unlucky in the last couple of minutes with a disallowed goal which perhaps should have been given as a goal. This draw extends Bromsgrove's current undefeated streak to seven games.
