Match Report | Programme
An exciting match at the Victoria Ground extends Bromsgrove's unbeaten run to seven games in a 1-1 draw against Bolehall Swifts.

This result did though come at a cost as an early crunching tackle on Sporting's Luke Dugmore led the number 10 being stretched off in the second minute and later taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken shin bone.

The home side though kept their heads high and refused to let the team morale drop despite this early incident. Both teams defended well and only a handful of chances were made in the first half after some impressive defensive work from both sides.
The first real threat on goal came from Bolehall's Troy Wallen whose glancing header brushed past Reece Francis' goal. The away side's best chance of the half came as a result of some impressive passing work between Troy Wallen and Nathan Thompson. Nathan Thompson then struck the ball with the outside of his foot just outside the box but could only find the woodwork.

Bromsgrove had some strong efforts of their own with their best first half effort coming in the form of a diving header from Chris Morrison, though this effort failed to hit the target.

The Rouslers stepped up their performance coming out into the second half and an early steaming run from Jon Rodgers on the far touchline gave them their reward. Jon Rodgers beat two players before playing a precise cross to Chrisi Conway; he then coolly side-footed the ball with his right foot into the far corner of the net giving the home side a 1-0 lead.

The Bromsgrove outfit still pushed for the second with Chris Morrison trying to better his previous effort with another strong header. This was a very good chance to extend the lead but the header again failed to hit the target and glanced even closer than his first half effort.

However, Sporting were eventually broken down after defending well in the second half. Daniel Hales was the player for the Swifts who found the net in the 70th minute by striking a powerful shot just inside the box past Reece Francis' bottom right corner to equalise for Bolehall.

Both teams had a few more chances but none strong enough to cause any trouble for either goalkeeper resulting in a 1-1 draw.

After the game joint manager Keith Draper for Bromsgrove said, "Games are tough in the Premier League and we have done extremely well to now be on a seven game unbeaten run. I'm obviously very disappointed about the incident to Luke in the first half but we switched up the formation, we worked very hard as a team and it's good to see the club getting their reward".

Sporting's next match is away next Saturday at mid-table Southam United and it will be interesting to see if they can extend their unbeaten run to eight games.
