Match Report | Programme
Sporting were knocked out of the Worcestershire Senior Urn in the semi-final after losing to Pershore Town on penalties.
The Rouslers went up 1-0 through Jon Rogers in the middle of the second half but Philip Marsh's last minute free-kick took the game into extra time before the visitors won on penalties.

The game took a while to get going and the crowd had to wait for almost twenty minutes before the first chance on goal. Town's Scott Finnegan burst into the box from the right and smashed a blistering shot goalwards, though Sporting 'keeper Tom Savage tipped the ball over the cross bar.

The home side struggled for long periods to keep hold of the ball or to move it around as quickly as the visitors did when possession. But Bradley Whitehouse showed his strength with the ball at his feet when he staved off several challenges on the half way line to retain possession just after half an hour.

Minutes later, with the crowd calling for a shot, he fired an effort just over the crossbar from outside the box after finding himself in space.

In a similar fashion, Keith Draper was showing some good assurance on the ball, though it spent the majority of the first half up in the air, and neither team could calve out many clear-cut chances.

But just before half-time Sporting forward Jovan Blake-Walker intercepted a mistake in the final third but his square ball was poor and failed to capitalise on the chance.

The second half started with Bromsgrove's Matt Ross going tumbling in the Pershore box after a clumsy challenge and referee Darren Wilding awarded a penalty. Jon Rogers stepped up and struck his spot-kick low to the left but Town 'keeper did well to keep it out.

The missed penalty deflated the hosts a little and Pershore began to push on. Ben Hayes struck well to the bottom left of Savage's goal, though the home 'keeper pulled off a good save, pushing it around the post to the cheers of the crowd.

With sixty-eight minutes played, Blake-Walker fed Rogers through on goal who finished smartly from just a few yards out.

The home side looked to have successfully held out for the win when the game moved into the final minute. Then Nick Harris gave away a free-kick right on the edge of the box and Pershore's Marsh fired a splendid strike beyond the wall and into the top corner.

Extra-Time was fairly uneventful as both teams look tired and stretched, but with just minutes to go Harris fired wide with the goal gaping, from just inside the box. Then, in the final seconds, Savage made a fine save and held onto the ball from a stinging effort and was named Sporting Man of the Match.

A tense shootout followed, with Andy Nicol, Rogers and Chris Morrison all finding the net, though Pershore won 3-4 to go through to the final.
