Match Report | Programme
Despite the poor result last Tuesday when Sporting lost at home to Littleton, a large contingent of Bromsgrove supporters made the short trip to Studley last Saturday.

Their loyalty being rewarded by seeing their team gain a comfortable win against Sporting's former landlords.
Chris Duggan and Ricardo Richards were still carrying injuries so Jack Wilson was moved to left-back and Matt Poyner partnered Mark Bellingham up front.

Studley started the slightly quicker with Jack Cresswell testing Jake Bedford in the Sporting goal with a good header on 7 minutes then the lively winger went down in the box three minutes later but referee Mr Westwood deemed there was no contact from Luke Darby.

Sporting had been gradually exerting more control on the game and they capitalised on this dominance on the 13th minute. After winning a corner, Will Tibbetts floated over a perfect ball to the middle of the goal area where Matt Poyner confidently headed home from short range.

The home team rallied for a short while and despite a couple of efforts from Creswell and Reece Hewitt, the away defence was not really troubled.

Sporting could have had a couple more on the 37th and 39th minutes. Firstly Matt Poyner nearly scored an identical goal to that earlier but his well-placed header was cleared off the line, then two minutes later Mark Bellingham spun round in front of the goal only to see his shot go wide of the left hand post.

Just before half-time Bellingham again found himself in a good position and attempted to slide the ball under Studley 'keeper but Richard Taylor dived well to stop his effort.

Studley came out after the interval looking a bit more determined to level things up but it was their opponents who increased their lead on 52 minutes after a good build up. Mark Bellingham was credited with the goal as it was his shot the was going goalwards as Ben Judd attempted to clear but only ended up hitting it into his own net, though to be fair their was not much else he could have done.

With the pitch getting heavier and Studley getting frustrated in their attempt get any control on the game, tempers flared on 61 minutes after Sam Wilkinson upended former Rousler James Blake. The Sporting midfielder got a yellow card but Blake was sent for an early bath after an attempted head butt in retaliation.

With Sporting risking nothing by keeping possession and Studley unable to make their mark on the game the match provided little entertainment from then onwards. A Will Tibbetts free kick grazed the post on 65 minutes and another flare up just before the end saw Like Darby and Reece Hewitt get yellow cards when they squared up.

After the final whistle, Sporting captain Luke Darby said, "I was happy with both the result and the performance. We controlled the match from the start and scored two good goals on a difficult pitch."

No midweek match this week for Sporting so the next game is against old rivals Blackwood at the Victoria Ground next Saturday.
