Match Report | Programme
Bromsgrove Sporting had to settle for a goalless draw against fifteenth place Pilkington after missing some key chances in the final stages of the match.

Sporting began with some early chances, though none causing the Pilkington goalkeeper, Reece Francis, too much trouble. Mark Bellingham's was the best of the lot, he found enough room inside the box to fire a low shot but Francis saved well at his near post.

Sam Wilkinson had a chance to give the home side the lead but his headed effort from a corner failed to hit the target inside the first quarter of the match.

It was a quite first half with the remaining chances all coming within the last five minutes. Odane Barnes brought a good catch out of Sporting's Jake Bedford just inside the penalty area.
Two minutes later and Pilkington's Daniel Wilkes came even closer. He fired a low shot outside of the box and again Bedford saved well, this time parrying the ball to his right. He quickly smothered the ball before Barnes could follow up the re-bound.
Bedford was called into action once more in the first half during a goal mouth scramble, he quickly got down to his right and saved another low shot from Pilkington, denying them the lead at the break.

The last chance of the half fell to Sporting but again it was another missed chance as Joe Cole's side footed effort went well over the cross bar.

After the re-start it was Pilkington that had the first attempt of the half but Sporting's Bedford denied the visitors the lead after diving well to his right to save Barnes' free kick.
Mark Bellingham had a great opportunity to give the Rouslers the lead in the last fifteen minutes of the match. He rose up well, but his free header was directed straight at Reece Francis who caught the ball.

Sporting was the side that dominated the final ten minutes but again missed key chances. Matt Poyner side footed the ball over the crossbar at the far post on the end of a Daniel Ludlow cross.

Both sides missed key chances all through the match and Bromsgrove should have taken the lead with the last kick of the game but Daniel Ludlow's effort, in a crowded penalty area, rose slightly over the crossbar.

Bromsgrove should have taken all three points from the game but didn't take advantage of the few key chances they created. The game finished 0-0 and Sporting's next league game is away against Nuneaton Griff on Saturday 4th January.
