Match Report
Bromsgrove Sporting's topsy-turvy pre-season continued with an impressive win against Lye Town who play one division above the Rouslers but five days later succumbed to a heavy defeat by Tividale who last season were promoted to the Northern Premier League.

It was a different matter against Tividale who ran riot at the Victoria Ground going 4 up by half-time. The first was an unstoppable free-kick but disorganisation in the Sporting defence allowed their opponents to get three more by half-time. Poor defending allowed the Black Country side to score three more in the second-half before Dave Almond got a consolation for Sporting five minutes from time in what ironically was probably the best goal of the evening when he made a solo run through the away defence before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top of the net.

These matches though are supposed to be for practice and it's unwise to read too much into results. The Sporting attack and midfield looked to be confident and capable but as with the recent defeat by Redditch, the back line needs shoring up; so a fair amount of work to be done and quickly by defence coach Ross Collins before the season starts this Saturday against Highgate United.

Sporting line-up: Jake Bedford, Brett Mander, Chris Duggan, Richard Taylor, Craig Jones, Robbie Ager, Sean Williams (Chrisi Conway), Ryan Mahon, Danny Campbell (Dave Almond), Billy Russell, Danny Ludlow.

Attendance ~ 150
