Match Report | Programme
Sporting came out of the blocks early and Chrisi Conway was the first in action when he forced Uttoxeter 'keeper Alex Langridge into a great save after just two minutes.

But despite dominating play, Sporting fell behind on 14 minutes when a cross from the right by Mark Springall found James Curley who headed home, just before Jake Bedford could punch the ball away from the away goal.

Five minutes later, Uttoxeter were awarded a penalty when Reece Hewitt up-ended one of the home players in the box. However Sporting had a let-off when Liam Sowter fired wide of the left hand post.

The game was being played in quite a competitive spirit and inevitably things boiled over on 29 minutes when Aaron Daniels and Mark Springall squared up to each other. Several other players got involved and referee Mr Stonier dished out three yellow cards but Springall who was involved in the initial incident managed without even being spoken to.

The drama continued three minutes before the interval when Sporting themselves were awarded a penalty when Aaron Daniels was adjudged to have been fouled. Sam Wills stepped up but had his spot-kick well-saved by Langridge diving low to his left.

Twelve minutes after half-time, the home side were reduced to 10 men minutes when Liam Sowter made a two-footed challenge on Reece Hewitt and went off for an early shower completing a miserable afternoon for the usually reliable defender.

For the remainder of the half, Sporting huffed and puffed with the extra man, but just could not seem to find an opening. Instead they continued to find 'keeper Langridge in inspired form.

However Sporting's finally got their just rewards when Ryan Mahon forced the ball home following a good build up with two minutes of added time on the clock.

So Sporting earned a deserved and useful point making it a win and two draws against the top three clubs in the space of eight days. It could have been worse.

Tuesday night sees an away league match against a erratic Alvis Sporting whilst next Saturday a fabulous home match beckons when Sporting entertain Nuneaton Griff in the FA Vase First Round Proper as they attempt to progress in the prestigious national competition.
