Match Report | Programme
Bromsgrove Sporting (2) 6-0 (0) Studley

26/12/2014 - Victoria Ground, Bromsgrove

Attendance - 501

The second highest crowd in the clubs history witnessed a dominant display by Sporting on a typically brisk Boxing day morning. Ex-Sporting boss, Adrian Manders' hopes were high as he named 5 ex-Sporting players in his starting line-up but these were dashed in the first five minutes when Will Tibbetts received the ball on the edge of the area and played in to Reece Hewitt who rounded two defenders before calmly slotting home, sending the larger than usual group of Sporting fans behind the goal into raptures.

Sporting continued to dominate, giving ex-Rouslers Sean Williams and Josh McKenzie little time on the ball, often doubling up on the former. On 36 minutes the pressure told with Chrisi Conway capitalizing on a mistake from another ex-Rousler Toby Checketts, by striding clear and slotting home under Studley 'keeper Shaun Edwards. As the half time whistle sounded, the 2-0 scoreline was probably quite generous to Studley.

After the break, Sporting's dominance continued with another Conway goal on 50 minutes, much the same as his first. A sublime curling effort from outside the box by Sam Wills made it four on the hour mark and a few minutes later his replacement Sean Brain joined in the fun with a goal with his first touch.

At 5-0 Sporting could relax and the Sporting faithful took to heckling the growingly frustrated Edwards in the Studley goal. Tibbetts completed the scoring on 80 minutes and a second run out in a week for U21 player Tim Bradley almost resulted in a goal.

On the final whistle, cheers rang round the ground and the fans departed home for the traditional cold turkey and stuffing sandwiches, hopefully to return on New Years Day for the second festive tie against our neighbours fro Kings Norton, Pilkington XXX.
