How They Saw It | Match Report | Programme
Racing went into the fourth game of the season unbeaten and in high spirits against a Bromsgrove team that had beaten them comprehensively last season and were unfortunate not to come away with at least a point.

With Bennett back in the fold and new signing Chris Hayden available after international clearance Racing started brightly and Halls shot after three minutes showed the intent early on. Tom Evans blocked well with Sportings first real chance and Racing had two free kick efforts from Knight saved by the Bromsgrove keeper.

Racers keeper Dowling produced a magnificent stop to his right after a deflected effort and Captain Reynolds blocked another effort as Sporting came into the game. On 44 minutes the move of match saw Brown spray the ball out wide for Hall to cross into Bennett who layed back to Brown whos fierce effort just went wide from 25 yards.

Second half and Sporting had their best spell which resulted in the only goal of the game. A whipped cross from the left on 49 saw Pykett head the ball home into the top right.

Dowling again saved smartly on 53 and Sporting hit the bar on 60 and saw an effort cleared off the line on 63 but then it was Racing who came back into the game. On 82 Dineen whippped in a cross which Hall just failed to meet and on 86 Morton was put through but the keeper reacted quickly to block the chipped effort on the edge of the box. Morton then fired in a cross which just evaded Bennett and the visitors went back to Warwick a little unfortunate.

MOM Dowling for a commanding early presence which settled the team and some smart saves to foil any further Bromsgrove goals.
