Sporting completed their pre-season matches in fine style as for the second time in four days they overcame opposition from three divisions above.
The away team looked to be the sharper in the opening exchanges with Sean Brain coming close on the fifth minute before hitting the side netting 3 minutes later. Then Jake King in the Halesowen goal made a good one-handed save from the nippy striker on the 12th minute.
However there was little he could do on the 32nd minute when Chris Lloyd collected a lovely ball up field from Craig Jones, side-stepped his marker then lobbed King from 12 yards out.
After the interval Brain finally got on to the score sheet picking up a nod on from Tony Clarke before turning and chipping over the unfortunate King for Sporting's second.
That goal seems to spur the home side in action and from then on The Rouslers were forced to defend in numbers and had Neil Leech between the sticks to thank for making three top drawer saves to keep his side's lead intact.
However The Yeltz pressure finally paid off on the 77th minute when Malcolm Melvin's cross evaded the Sporting back four and Ash Parsons-Smith tapped home.
Clarke might have got another for the away side just after the 90 minutes was up but his angled shot went wide of the far post.
Despite being a friendly this was quite a competitive game with a lot of skill and commitment on both sides. Sporting deserved their win but this Saturday it's the real thing with the FA Cup match against Heath Hayes who were a much improved outfit at the end of last season.
