Bromsgrove recovered from their weekend defeat at Knowle in the best possible way with a four goal trouncing of promotion rivals Feckenham.
Sporting started the game brightly and came close as Neil Cooksey headed against the bar from a corner on 5 minutes. From a second dead ball Odane Barnes headed over on 10 minutes but a minute later Sporting were in front as Barnes' persistence saw him create an opening down the right which Stuart Hall converted at the near post. Sporting continued to attack and threaten with Hall having a header cleared off the line on 19 minutes.
Feckenham started to come back into the game and a corner was missed by a Sporting defender on the near post but bounced off keeper McGettrick and away to safety. On 41 minutes, Sporting's Nick Harris saw a fierce shot palmed away by the Feckenham keeper but in shooting Harris injured his ankle and took no further part as Zac Blood replaced him. As the half came to a close Feckenham came as close as they would all night as a shot beat keeper McGettrick but was cleared off the line acrobatically by Cooksey. There was still time for Sporting to create another opportunity but Brookes shot wide so half time was reached with Sporting having just a single goal advantage. Any thoughts that Feckenham would get back into the game were quickly dispelled as on 50 minutes Barnes persistence again paid off as his cross was converted by Stuart Hall from 6 yards as defenders missed the opportunity to clear. Four minutes later and Barnes had a deserved goal as he poked home from the edge of the 6 yard box.
Feckenham tried to come back and a good save was required from McGettrick from a strike a minute later. On 57 minutes, Cooksey missed a golden opportunity to add to Sporting's tally as he headed wide.
Feckenham made a double substitution to try and get back into the game but despite some possession they rarely threatened the Sporting goal.
On 79 minutes and chance of the visitors getting back into the game disappeared as Stuart Hall completed his hat-trick as Sporting substitute Dan Lismore beat two defenders to set up the goal. Sporting then seemed to take their foot off the gas and played out time with little further incident in the game except for a booking for Feckenham defender Fitter for dissent in last few minutes.
Sporting have three away games before their final home game on May 7th. This Saturday sees them away at Henley Forest.
