Match Report
Another good performance saw Sporting overcome a useful Paget side keeping up their 100% record in pre-season matches writes Phil Baker.

The Rouslers started quicker with Jason Cowley and Chrisi Conway coming close in the early stages but Paget gradually got in the match forcing a couple of corners and a great one-handed save from Reece Francis.

On the 30th minute Sporting took the lead when Robbie Bunn scored a delightful free-kick, curling the ball into the top left-hand corner of the Paget net giving Josh Benton no chance.

Both sides continued to push forward but with nothing further on the scoresheet, went into the interval with the Bromsgrove outfit just about deserving the lead.

Both teams made a number of substitutions for the second period and with Sporting playing more free-flowing football, the Paget defence was put under a lot of pressure. Liam Spink and John Pykett both had chances go wide whilst on the 62nd minute Wade Malley hit the angle with a fierce effort.

However, after a lot of good defensive play, the away side finally got their second on the 72nd minute when Pykett chipped the ball over the Paget back four to Wade Malley who had an easy tap in. Malley got his second three minutes later when he dummied two defenders before driving home a low-angled shot.

Reece Hewitt scored number four after referee Mr Lane overruled his linesmanŽs flag for an offside then the hard-working Pykett got a deserved goal when he converted MalleyŽs cross with a minute to go.

Paget will have been disappointed to concede five as they played well for much of the match but will be a force in MFL Division one this season. Meanwhile Paul Smith will continue to access his squad options next Saturday with a visit to Redditch United.
