Match Report | Programme
A convincing performance from Bromsgrove against Rugby Town allowed them to bounce back from defeat in Leicestershire last week to the hands of Shepshed Dynamo.

The Rouslers started brightly and should of been ahead on five minutes but Joe Ward could only fire into the hands of Niall Cooper from six yards out.

Cooper was called into action again moments later, producing a fine save to his right to stop Sam Wills finding the top corner.
In form Robbie Bunn found the net for Bromsgrove, Jack Wilson’s pass found its way to the midfielder inside the box, who fired low past Cooper.

Rugby fought back, but found themselves two behind just before the break as Bunn’s deflected shot wrong footed Cooper and bounced over the line.

Two half time changes from Rugby seemed to change the game and Wiggins-Thomas should have brought them a goal back but he could not find the target from Holloway’s cross.

Seconds later the ball was in Rugby’s net again. A swift counter attack started by Ward played Wills down the left, who set up Sean Brain on the volley to slot home into the bottom left corner and score his third goal of the week.

On the 64th minute Wiggins-Thomas was denied a consolation by a heroic Guy Clark challenge after he rounded keeper’ Reece Francis and looked destined to score.

The game then began to slow down in pace, neither side having any notable chances.

However Connor Deards fired home from a Sam Wills corner in the dying seconds to give the Rouslers their fourth and Deards’ second in a Sporting shirt.
