Match Report | Programme
After suffering something of a humiliation at the Victoria Ground earlier this season, it was hardly surprising that Kidlington were not going to accept a repeat particularly on their home ground and clearly their tactics were to close down when Sporting had possession and stifle build-ups, a process helped by a heavy and uneven pitch.

When Kidlington did get the ball then fast moves up field were the order of the day and they had the first decent chance of the match as early as the third minute when Lewis Gabbidon forced Jono Brown to make a one-handed save from a forceful 20 yard drive.

Four minutes later and things were not looking good for Sporting as Tom Taylor had to leave the field with a hamstring problem but at least Craig Jones was the substitute. Much of the subsequent play took place in the middle of the park with a few robust tackles from the home side going unpunished though to be fair this anomaly was pointed out to referee Mr Cushen by away fans.

Sporting finally got their first shot on 14 minutes but Josh Quaynor's effort went way over the bar. Then finally Mr Cushen said enough was enough and Jack Bernasconi went in his book after clattering the said Quaynor.

Anaclet Odhiambo was proving to be a bit of a problem for the Sporting defence with his pacey runs into the box and had a good chance denied on the 35th minute when Brown cleared off his line.

However it was Sporting who took the lead three minutes later after Quaynor was again up-ended this time by Nick Thorne. Mike McGrath took the place kick from 25 yards out neatly dropping it over the head of Kidlington 'keeper Sam Warrell and into the back of his net.

With a couple of minutes of the half remaining Jason Cowley's shot was fumbled by Warrell but Cameron Peters making a return for Sporting put the rebound into the net only to be ruled offside.

Both sides had weak efforts early in the second half but Sporting's increasing dominance gave then a second goal on the 53rd minute when Warrell slipped as he tried to recover a cross, Richard Gregory's subsequent shot was blocked but he then managed to slide in the rebound from a few yards out.

Odhiambo was still proving to be a handful and forced Brown to tip over with 63 minutes gone but a couple of minutes later Quaynor got Rouslers' third with a delightful daisy cutter from just outside the box that went though the home defence and under Warrell.

Sporting's fourth and final goal came from a neat build up against a tiring home defence when substitute Christ Mayuba crossed to Peters who unselfishly passed to Gregory to fire home rather that shoot himself.

Kidlington did have one last flurry way into added time but after a goalmouth scramble, Declan Benjamin's effort went wide of the left-hand post.

So Sporting get back to winning ways against an improved Kidlington side but once the first goal went in there was never going to be any other result.
