Match Report | How They Saw It | Programme
Bromsgrove Sporting's were unable to notch up their tenth win in a row on Saturday afternoon, as they drew 2-2 with Barton Rovers.
Josh Quaynor bagged the Rouslers' 100th league goal of the season with a well taken first half effort, before a Richard Gregory penalty just shy of the hour mark made it appear as though Bromsgrove were well on their way to another win.

However, quickfire goals from Tony Williams Jr and Victor Osubu shortly after Sporting's second ensured that the away team would head back to Bedfordshire with a share of the spoils.

Barton almost opened their account for the afternoon just three minutes in, as Williams Jr broke through the defence and saw his shot saved via the feet of Jono Brown.

Charlie Dowd nearly gave Sporting the lead on the 16th minute, but his effort was saved at the front post.

Soon after, Jason Cowley capped off a neat run through the defence with a drive that was saved, but only to the feet of Kieren Westwood, who somehow skied over the bar with an open goal at his mercy.

More chances would come to Westwood, as he had a header saved by keeper Garry Malone before having his rebound blocked by a Barton defender.

The opener came 36 minutes in, as Quaynor cut inside his defender and neatly placed the ball past Malone into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.

Sporting looked as though they would cruise to another victory when their second came 13 minutes into the second half, as Gregory emphatically slammed home a penalty into the top corner, after a handball offence.
However, two Barton goals in as many minutes left the home side well and truly rattled. In the 61st minute, Williams Jr capitalised on some poor defending to take the ball around goalkeeper Jono Brown and slot home into an empty net.

Then, just a minute later, Osubu willfully pounced on some equally haphazard defensive play to dispatch a one on one past Brown.

Bromsgrove had chances to take all three points thereafter, with a Gregory free kick hit narrowly wide probably being the best of these, but this was far from a vintage display from the home side.

Barton themselves had opportunities to bag the win, with Andrew Phillips having a shot at the front post smartly saved by the feet of Brown.
