Match Report | Programme
A trio of first half goals guided Bromsgrove Sporting to a 3-0 pre-season win over AFC Dunstable.

An opener from John Pykett was followed by a fine brace from summer signing Shaquille McDonald, as the Rouslers played their last friendly before their season opener against Biggleswade Town next Saturday.

The deadlock was broken nine minutes in, as Will Shorrock found Richard Gregory, who showed intricate skill in the box to give it to Pykett, who after seeing his first effort deflected onto the crossbar, gladly took a second bite of the cherry, tapping in from a yard out.

The second came eight minutes later and what a belter it was; sumptuously quick passing from Nathan Hayward and Gregory saw the former tee up McDonald, who leathered home with unnerving pace and accuracy from just inside the area.

The game was put beyond reasonable doubt a minute before the half hour mark, as McDonald notched up his second.

Gregory found Jake Heath, who drove forward and set up McDonald, who despite having his first shot saved, confidently slammed home the rebound.

Nine changes were made by Sporting during the interval, with the best chance of the second half being a Leon Broadhurst header from a Robbie Thompson-Brown cross, with the substitute hitting the crossbar with his effort.

Entertainment Rating 3/5.
