How They Saw It | Match Report | Programme
THE PICS brought home a point from a keenly-contested clash with Bromsgrove Sporting.
There was a lively opening by both sides but chances were at a premium until some skilful play out wide by Shaquille Whittingham saw him find Levi Rowley who put his effort over the crossbar.
We were restricting our hosts to long-range efforts with Jon Flatt doing his job when called upon with a couple of routine saves.
A free-kick from the home side on 38 minutes was delivered dangerously into the box and as the ball was half-cleared, Hayward fired well over from the loose ball.
The Pics broke the deadlock right on the stroke of half-time when Alex Moore did well to win the ball and thread through Jonathan Letford who slotted home.
The second half started with a good double save from Flatt before Gregory rattled the woodwork as the home side looked for a way back into the game.
It was the home side who were asking most of the questions only to find Flatt in good form, whilst The Pics almost profited on the break when Rowley linked up with Letford who went close.
The home side’s pressure eventually told when McDonald seized upon a flick-on to level matters with seven minutes to go.
After The Pics were reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Callam Mendez-Jones for a second yellow card, there were a couple of big chances for Letford right at the death but it ended with honours even.
