Biggleswade Town 0
Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Ward 83')

Bromsgrove Sporting notched up their first league win of the season, with a 1-0 victory at Biggleswade Town on Saturday afternoon.

Debutant Luke Ward scored the game's only goal, volleying the ball home at the far post from a corner seven minutes from time.

Sporting got off to a slow start, with the home side dominating the play; Tremayne Charles had a couple of early chances, whilst Scott Davies had a 12th minute free kick, from which Fabio Lopes put the rebound over the bar.

The lively Lopes had a further opportunity to break the deadlock 10 minutes from the half time whistle, but he saw his low shot saved well by Daniel Platt.

The opening 20 minutes of the second half saw Sporting grow into the game more, with Chris Lait and Charlie Dowd missing the target with attempts from range, whilst
Lait and Courtney Richards both found the net but were judged to be offside in the process.

Lopes and Jonathan Giles had shots from close range for the Waders but were unable to test Platt. They were made to pay for the lack of a clinical edge in front of goal, as the Rouslers netted what proved to be the winner in the 83rd minute.

Lait whipped a corner into the box, which was wilfully booted home by Ward at the back post, sending the travelling Sporting faithful into raptures of joy.
