Match Report
Last Saturday, (15th May) Bromsgrove Sporting played another end of season friendly match, this time away to Rushall Olympic and came away with an impressive 5 - 2 victory. Unfortunately with COVID restrictions still in place, spectators could not be admitted so the atmosphere was somewhat quiet.

The 'Pics got of to a good start putting the Rouslers defence under a lot of pressure for the first 20 minutes with 'keeper Daniel Platt making a string of fine saves. However, as the Bromsgrove outfit settled down and got used to their surroundings, they gained the upper hand and took the lead on 34 minutes with a well-worked goal from one of manager Brendan Kelly's trialists playing at right-back.

Jason Cowley doubled the visitors' advantage on the 55th minute with a powerful header before the home side got one back four minutes later, then the equaliser on 64 minutes. However, Cowley restored Sporting's advantage just one minute later. Another trialist buried a rebound from a Cowley shot for the fourth then a trialist got the fifth just before the referee blew for full time.

The only worrying note of the afternoon was Gift Mussa who fell heavily on the artificial pitch and had to go to hospital for a concussion assessment but the good news received later was that he had had the all clear.

Next stop for The Rouslers is The TRICO Stadium on Saturday 22nd May to continue the Red Recruitment Cup left incomplete from the end of last year with fans being allowed to attend this fixture.

Line-up: Daniel Platt, Trialist 1 (Jak Hickman - guest), Jack Wilson (Jake Bloomer), Liam Spink (Will Shorrock), Luke Ward (Trialist 3), Leon Broadhurst, Charlie Dowd (Trialist 4), Josh Quaynor, Jason Cowley, Gift Mussa (Trialist 5), Miro Pais (Trialist 2).
