Match Report | Programme
A Jon Rogers hat-trick and some great team play eases Sporting to continue their impressive form, putting five past struggling Phoenix.

The fans attending the Victoria Ground got treated from the set off. Early Goals from Jon Rogers and Nick Harris gave Bromsgrove a two-goal lead. To add to the excitement a well-placed shot from Jon Rogers in the fifth minuet of stoppage time put Bromsgrove three nil up at half time. Phoenix fought back with an early goal from Anthony Barker but the lead was soon regained only ten minutes later with Joe Brooks' penalty kick. The final Bromsgrove goal came from Jon Rogers who secured a well-deserved hat trick. A top performance from Phoenix's Chris Conway managed to decrease the deficit, but Sporting managed to stand firm to seal six wins in seven games in a strong 5-2 score line against Phoenix United.

The first chance came from Phoenix's Stefan Morrison who brought the best out of Grant Biddle whose save denied an early lead from Phoenix. Bromsgrove replied strong as Dan Wilkes' perfectly placed cross to the near post found Jon Rogers right foot which resulted in Bromsgrove's first goal of the match. Sporting got there second within the next minuet when Nick Harris whipped in a free kick on the near touch line found its way into the back of the net.

Phoenix pushed to break down Bromsgrove's defence but first half efforts from Stefan Morrison were well off target. Jon Rogers sealed an impressive first half by turning past his marker and striking the ball past Sean Burrell to give Bromsgrove a three-goal lead at half time.

Both teams had chances early on in the second half, but it was Phoenix who found the back of the net first. Anthony Barker's powerful header gave Grant Biddle no chance and reduced the score line to 3-1. Phoenix looked to have a way back into the game. But the lead was soon increased as a push on Neil Cooksey awarded Bromsgrove a penalty. Joe Brooks stepped up and the power behind his penalty took it into the back of the net despite Sean Burrell getting a touch.

With 15 minutes to go a through ball gave Jon Rogers his well-deserved hat-trick. He coolly finessed his shot passed Sean Burrell to secure Bromsgrove's fifth goal.

Some Phoenix players did put in extremely impressive efforts. One of which was Chris Conway who troubled Bromsgrove from the set off. With ten minutes to go he got his reward by firing of a sweetly hit strike in the bottom corner of the goal from the edge of the box.

Phoenix's perseverance proved too little as Bromsgrove continued their impressive run to climb to third in the table with the final score Bromsgrove Sporting 5-2 Phoenix United.
