Bromsgrove Sporting finally overcame a spirited FC Glades side with 4 second half goals to run out 5-0 victors in this League game.
Glades started well and had the first goal threats with a couple of shots easily dealt with by Tom Savage in Sporting's goal. They also wasted a good chance from a free kick 20 yards from goal which was cleared after hitting the defensive wall.
Sporting gave a debut to James Turk, signed in the week from Fairfield Villa and on 19 minutes he created the first goal with a great ball across the box to Chris Conway who beat keeper Chris Burkett with a first time shot at his near post. Sporting should have gone two ahead when on 27 minutes, Banner side footed just the wrong side of the post with the goal gaping. Sporting had a goal disallowed for offside as Jon Rogers picked up a rebound from a Conway shot on 38 minutes. So, for the second week running Sporting had to be content with a single first half goal.
This week rather than let the opposition back into the game Sporting went on to dominate the second period. There were a few nerves and when Joe Brookes smacked a penalty against the bar following a foul on Keith Draper fans wondered if the second goal would arrive. Fortunately, they only had to wait a couple of minutes as Jon Rogers worked the ball along the bye line before pulling it back for Conway to score his second from 8 yards.
Another pull back from the bye line, this time by substitute Ryan Molesworth, was missed by at least four Glades defenders and Aaron Roberts was able to lash it home to make it three nil on 73 minutes. Three became four on 81 minutes as another ball across the area found Mikey Stewart at the back post and the Sporting substitute scored with a simple tap in.
The final goal came from a Joe Brookes shot on 86 minutes which took a wicked deflection off Glades defender Ward which wrong footed keeper Burkett.
Unfortunately, almost on full time Glades substitute Ashley Taylor went down with what looked to be a serious injury and Glades finished the game with 10 men as all their replacements had been used.
