CORBY TOWN 0 BROMSGROVE ROVERS 4
Four second half goals saw Rovers gain their first win of the season in this Beazer Homes League Premier Division clash at the Rockingham Triangle on Wednesday.
In the first half, Corby dictated the play, but failed to convert chances and Richard Attwood produced a couple of excellent saves to deny the home side. Rovers then decided that pumping the ball in the air was not the best tactic and reverted to keeping it neat and simple.
The change paid off, and the lads had their best chance with just a minute left of the first half. Conniff had room on the right wing, and his cross was met by the sliding Rosegreen who saw his shot hit the foot of the post.
The second half saw Rovers begin playing tidy football and Hanks should have done better when put through by Rosegreen.
After 67 minutes, Rovers brought off new signing Kevin Trusswell from Gloucester and on came Russell Parmenter for his first taste of Premier Division football. Only two minutes later the visitors broke the deadlock. Paul Webb smashing the ball home from 15 yards after a goalmouth scamble.
Just three minutes later Rovers added to their lead. Rosegreen shook off his marker and squeezed his shot in off the post.
Rovers were now running the show and only two fine saves from Corby 'keeper Lamond denied Rosegreen. But the ex Redditch man did eventually get his second goal and Rovers' third in the 86th minute. Rosie converted a penalty after handball was well spotted by the referee.
And to round off a pleasing night Hanks was put through and he rounded the 'keeper superbly for the fourth goal.
