LAST GASP GOAL GRABS POINT
Waterlooville 3 (2) Bromsgrove Rovers 3 (0)
Southern League Premier Division
A late goal by Billy Cole robbed Rovers of maximum points in this Beazer Homes League Premier Division clash at Jubilee Park on Saturday.
The home side had led by two Gut Whittingham goals but after the break Rovers hit back in devasting fashion to make the scoreline 3-2.
With the game in its ninth minute of injury time, a Hore free kick fell to Cole who angled a shot into the far corner.
Rovers had dominated the early stages and Ville were fortunate to stay on level terms.
As play moved into time added on for an injury to Rovers keeper Richard Attwood, Ville edged in front. A poor back pass let Clements through down the middle. Attwood managed to get a hand to the striker's shot but the ball merely fell to Whittingham who fired it into an empty net.
Before Rovers had time to recover, Ville had added a classy second after good work by Jenkins and Hore.
Attwood failed to appear for the second half and was replaced in goal by Chris Hanks. In the 50th minute Rovers grabbed a goal out of the blue. The ball found Alan Lowell, who turned and unleashed a remarkable shot from 25 yards out.
The equaliser came in the 77th minute. Cunningham's cross from the right was met by a Brown header. Six minutes later, Rovers were in front. Gill misjudged a deep cross and Mark Rosegreen looped an incredible header from 15 yards.
Rovers are now lying eighth in the league with 15 points from 10 games.
