VS Rugby 2 Bromsgrove Rovers 5
Rovers produced their best performance of the season so far tocome away from Butlin Road with an easy win and extend their unbeaten Beazer Homes League record to seven games.
The visitors had to come back from being a goal down in only the fourth minute. Attwood failed to hold a corner and Maddocks poked the ball home into an empty net.
Rugby nearly added to their lead just a minute later, but Attwood made amends for his earlier mistake by tipping over a fierce shot by midfielder Conway.
Rovers managed to weather the storm and in the 20th. minute were on level terms. Stewart Brighton's cross from the left was met by Sylvester Cunningham who squeezed the ball into the corner to score his firt goal for his new club.
After 43 minutes, Rovers inevitably took the lead. After a good four man move, Kevin Trusswell's cross was met by Brighton whose glancing header gave him his first goal of the season.
Rugby had a chance just a minute after the interval when Attwood could only parry a 20-yard free-kick, and striker Maddocks shot over fom six yards.
Rovers increased their lead to 3-1 in the 48th. minute, when Paul Webb's second shot was helped over the line by Mark Rosegreen.
Rovers were looking like the team of two or three years ago, and Paul Webb was running the show in midfield.
They made the game safe after 60 minutes when Chris Hanks' shot could only be parried to Sylvester Cunningham who thankfully grabbed his second of the match and Rovers' fourth.
Just two minutes later Hanks grabbed one for himself when his low fierce drive from a 25-yard free-kickflew into the goal off a post.
Rovers could have grabbed their sixth after 74 minutes when Rosegreen was put through and only another brave save by Rugby keeper Mick Martin denied the Rovers forward.
Rugby did grab a little bit of respectability when a quickly taken free-kick gave Richard Attwood no chance from Danny Conway late in the game.
